Summer IX

Today I had my first of seven exams. We had one hour time to solve three problems in physical chemistry. I wouldn't say it way easy, but I tried my best and I solved most of them. The next exam in food technology will be in a weeks time, so it's not that stressy. The last weeks I was mainly studying in Zurich, so I don't sit alone at home, but can drink coffee and have lunch with my friends from uni. Besides Jonathan and Lukas are working at UBS in Zurich, so last week we met for a drink after work at Pur Pur. It was a nice evening and we could talk about the usual topics like girls, money (mostly money and girls depend on each other) and our future. Right now they are making quite a bit of money in the bank, working in the investment department ;-)! As for me, I can't work during the exam session. But as soon as I'm back from Asia and the fifth semester has started, I'm back at work.

On Friday me and Jonathan went to Mascotte and as we were too early, we checked out the Wings Airline Bar & Lounge at Limmatquai for a drink. This time we had no problem getting in at Mascotte and we then grabbed a seat at the lounge inside. We met two cute girls from Persia and talked to them for a long time. As they wanted to dance with us we just forgot about the last night train at 3AM and instead took the first one in the morning ;-)!

Jonathan then bought a bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne on Saturday. So we met at Andy's place and had a relaxed evening. The next day I felt bored so I called Jonathan and we then spontanously decided to meet. At his place we had kind of a BBQ only for us two. Moreover our timing was just perfect because as soon as the steaks were ready a thunderstorm sweeped over Schaffhausen.

Right now I just can't be alone... I'm really longing for people to talk to me. And I take every chance to get to know people. Not much more than a week ago I got to know Jane and her friends at Domino and now I bump into her all the time... Actually no wonder, as her parents own the Café Vordergasse, where I'm walking past almost every day!

Summer VIII

Another amazing weekend has passed by! On Saturday the world famous Streetparade took place in Zurich with more than 800'000 people celebrating all kinds of electronic music. Even on Friday afternoon there were extraordinarily many people out in the streets, so Jonathan and I decided to check out some clubs in Zurich that night. As we had a train to Stadelhofen Station we spontanously decided to go to Mascotte at Bellevue. The queue was pretty long but we didn't care... Actually we talked quite a lot so we didn't realize that we wouldn't be able to get in without girls. So we had to ask girls to come in with us. That was no problem at all, but we didn't get in anyway due to the age restriction of twentytwo, as we had another younger friend with us. We then decided to drink something at Pur Pur, but it was rather empty in there, so we walked along the lake right to Mythenquai where we went into the Acqua Club. The entrance fee was for the Fresh & Stable Streetparade Warm-Up Party was pretty high with 25 CHF, but anyway, we finally found a club to party. Down in the club Rolf Imhof and DJ Le Noir were playing some Tech-House whereas the Lounge upstairs provided some chill out tunes. On the turntables was DJ Mahara McKay, who was Miss Switzerland a few years ago. Besides we met Bligg, a swiss hiphop artist becoming famous with his hit single "Alles scho mal ghört". At 3AM we took the last train back and as we met some friends this night found a good end.
On Saturday we once again went to Zurich, had fun, party and met many really strange though interesting people from all over the world!

Summer VII

I didn't write down much here recently. And I even don't have an excuse. I was studying and working in Zurich this week as I discovered a nice library where I can learn more efficient as ever in my life... The last two weeks I was studying at home which has one really good advantage: I can do sports whenever I want to. As soon as I'm fed up with learning I can go out running or cycling or even go to the gym. But there is distraction around. I eat too much, spend too much time in the internet actually doing nothing and the worst is I go to bed late which makes me sleepy the next day. So right now I get up at 6:45 and take the 8:00 train to Zurich. This week I spent practically all my time in Zurich. Went drinking coffee at Starbucks and Tannenbar, went swimming in the Limmat, prepared a nice dinner with Livia and her roommate Janina and could have gone eating Sushi at Yoojis with Sophie and her friends... And best, I didn't care when I was at home, as I was studying for hours every day. Besides, exept for a extrem hot Monday, we had heavy rain the whole week! When I went to Livia's place I was walking trough the rain without a proper jacket so I got wet as hell!

On August 1st we celebrated Swiss National Day. So the day before, Jonathan and I went to Zurich to have some drinks before checking out a few clubs. On the way to a bar, Jonathan met a friend from Uni, so he joined us spontanously. We first went to Edi's Weinstube and talked a few minutes. Yu, which was his name, is Japanese and also a citizen of South Africa. And he even did military service down there as marine officer! Crazy, init? And best of all, he has connections to Tokyo, Japan!
We then went to Lake Side right at Lake Zurich. We haven't been on the guestlist, so we waited in the queue for one and a half hour until the bouncer said: "Sorry guys, we're completely full, you have to leave!" So we were pissed, really pissed. But we catched the next taxi we could find and headed back to town to check out some other clubs, but once again they were full to burst. Eventually we found a bar, had some drinks and stayed until 4AM when they turned on the lights. We felt hungry, so we again took a taxi to the Langstrasse where you can find food 24h a day! At 5:40 we took the train back to Schaffhausen and witnessed a wonderful sunrise! At 7AM I was home and went to bed for a few hours before we again had BBQ at a friends place.

On Saturday it was my turn to hold a party at my place! I prepared sushi, salmon sandwiches, tiramisu and many kinds of salades together with Livia and Urs, who just came to help in the afternoon as he had some business meeting later on. All in all we were more than twenty people out there and yeah, we had fun! The next morning I got up early as I couldn't sleep anymore and besides it was a beautiful day anyway. So Sophie, Jussi and I went swimming in the Rhine which was a great start into the day! I guess I have to do this more often, even though soon it's gonna be fall again...
