Wintersemester III

As the titel indicates it should slowly but surley get winter. Indeed it's everything but winter: Yesterday Glarus, a city up in the mountains, measured a temperature of 21.5°C! In Schaffhausen as well we had pretty warm 14.9°C. And that's not all: We found many blossoming flowers and bees and butterflies. And in less than a week it's December...

Note: [It's now Sunday the 26th of November and it was even hotter! In Bad Ragaz the temperature raised to 22.2°C]

Wintersemester II

On Friday I went to have a drink with a friend at Lounge 74. We talked about topics such as girls, sports (he once was U18 swiss champion in the 400m dash) and studying. Besides we met many other friends we hadn't expect to meet there!

And on saturday I watched "The Da Vinci Code" with Tom Hanks and Andrey Tautou. As it's partly set in Paris we now have some other places we want to visit in December.

Last week I had to buy a new GA at the SBB shop in Schaffhausen.

"With the General Abonnement (GA), you can hop aboard the next train and enjoy unlimited travel on SBB's network as well as on most privately operated railways. The card also entitles you to free travel on postbuses, lake and river boats and on trams and buses in numerous Swiss cities and urban networks – totally over 23'500 kilometres of public transport. And many mountain railways and cableways grant special discounts for GA holders."

Wintersemester I

Week No.3 at university ended today. I'm quite pleased that I passed the exams and now I'm motivated for the next semester and the exams in February and March.

My studies now consists of two practical trainings in physics and microbiology. This is a nice change from the lectures. We work in groups of two and every group has an assistant which is mostly a PhD student. In microbiology we breed bacteria and viruses.

The focus in this semester though lies in physics. Then we have lectures in maths, biochemistry, environmental economics, organic chemistry, anatomy of humans and animals and in food analytics.

Today I couldn't attend my lectures as I had a cold with fever...

So I listend the story: The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) writen by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and published in 1943. Although ît's ostensibly a children's book, it makes several profound and idealistic points about life and love.
