6th Semester II

I'm still looking for an internship starting in fall 2008. It's pretty difficult to find good offers, and I'm not quite sure when my bachelor thesis is due to be finished. I had a job interview at Lindt & Sprüngli in Kilchberg right at the shores of Lake Zurich. The atmosphere and the workplace were great but as the beginning of the internship was planned for July I had to call off because of my bachelor thesis.

I now have one week of easter holidays so I can rearrange everything. Actually it's spring now, and a week ago we already had 18°C... I went running and after that relaxing in the garden wearing some shorts. In the afternoon Valentina, I and Michael with his girlfriend went to town for some ice cream, as the "world's best" Gelateria El Bertin opened its doors.
But the last few days the weather changed... it snowed! I think it only snowed once or twice this winter, but now as it is should finally get warm and sunny, it's snowing...

6th Semester I

The last semester of my bachelor studies has just begun. I have lectures in Food Microbiology, Food Processing, Food Biotechnology, Human Nutrition and Marketing. We also have some lab classes in Technology and Processing which are pretty cool, as we can create and process our own food! Last week we made some vanilla ice cream… whereas “some” is kind of an understatement, we made about 50 liter. And we made our own tofu by milling soybeans. In a supermarket we bought rice and thai vegetables and made a delicious meal!

At my girlfriend's place I created a thai dinner on friday. I also intended to make some Sushi, but we were full after the thai dish. I was influenced by the restaurant Lemongrass, where we went for dinner a week before.

The last days in February were beautiful and I went cycling and running and spent much time outdoors with Valentina, but unfortunatley I then caught a cold. Now as it is rainy all days I feel better...
