Spring I

Last week I finally got my exam mark: 4.7. In my opinion this is ok. Even though I was secretly hoping for a 5. But I passed and this is what matters.

This weekend we escaped from the late snow to the warm and sunny South. We again took the 8:09 Cisalpino in Schaffhausen with direction to Venice in Italy. We had our own compartment and could install the speakers for our iPod. In Bellinzona we stopped and bought something to eat and soon we took another train to Locarno and then to Verscio, where the Teatro Dimitri is located. After watching some lessons, we went back to Locarno and took the bus to Mesocco, where we have a house.

On sunday we forgot to change the clocks to daylight saving time. We realized it when the bus didn't come...

Early Spring IV

Wow, what a weekend! On saturday morning I had my last exam in organic chemistry. Actually I studied not that hard because I thought I don't really need a good mark to pass. But during the exam I could solve problems I could never solve before. So I was happy in two ways: The chemistry exam was easier than expected and the exams are finally over...

In the afternoon I went to eat some ice cream. After strolling around in Schaffhausen we decided to visit the Haberhaus, a bar in and old medieval building in Schaffhausen. The evening we went to the Tabacco Lounge to have a few drinks.

On Sunday we went to Starbucks in Berne to have a coffee as we didn't really sleep that much. Then we took a train Neuchatel where we had a short stopover on our way to the Creux-du-Van. It's is a long, half rounded cliff that developped naturally through erosion and its ripid walls are up to 160 meter high. We had to walk 2 hours to get to the top which lies on 1400m (the trainstation is on 700m above sealevel). It was really impressing. Back in the train to Zurich we all were very tired and slept the whole way.

Early Spring III

Only one exam left... Yesterday I had one in biochemistry and I think it was one of the best marks so far. But I've been learning a lot so this is just the reward for the layed out time. The last exam will be in organic chemistry on saturday (!) morning. This means I probably can't even get out on friday night... But I already know what I'm doing right after the exam. I will dash to the mainstation and take the next train to Schaffhausen. Then I'll head for the Gelateria El Bertin, which will open its doors on saturday.

Last saturday we could see a total lunar eclipse here in Schaffhausen. In most parts of Switzerland it was cloudy but here we could see the moon in a fantastic but strange red color. On sunday I went to the Lindli as it was a beautiful day and I didn't intend to learn the whole day. I met some friends and talked until the sunset. I really love spring!

Besides: In a few days there will be a big opening in Zurich - Sihlcity opens its doors. It's a huge complex for shopping, living, pleasure and wellbeing. Zurich's new neighbourhood is rising up on the foundations of the former Sihl Paper Factory. It is the innovative execution of a sophisticated concept that unites a wide variety of activities in a single location.
